 eake (S. Norfolk) Location: Each year, we rely heavily on our Day of Caring
  volunteer agencies to help us with much needed deep cleaning and grounds b
 eautification projects.  As a non-profit organization with limited resource
 s, we are better able to carry out the important work of providing an essen
 tial service to children and families by hosting volunteer organizations su
 ch as yours!  We also employ a notoriously overworked, underpaid and under-
 appreciated population of Early Childhood workers - all of whom will be so 
 GRATEFUL for the help in and around their classrooms!\n\n \n\nChesapeake's 
 Project List: Organize closets, art supplies, shed; paint parking lot lines
 ; cot/furniture deep clean; activity bus washing; landscaping; pressure was
 h playground equipment; window washing; small painting projects; planting; 
 touch up paint in classrooms and hallways;   picnic table build; garden bed
  build/install; sanitizing toys; etc\n\nOpportunity Type: Individual and Te
 am\nLength of Type: \nMinimum age required: 18\nRequired: We ask that our v
 olunteers come safely equipped to work throughout the day on the specific t
 asks we have planned.  Items that volunteers may want to have on hand for t
 heir comfort and safety: sunscreen (much of the project could be held outdo
 ors), hat, sunglasses, your own personal gardening and/or cleaning gloves, 
 comfortable shoes and attire.  Additionally, bringing extra gardening/yard 
 hand tools, trimmers, weedeaters, blowers, and power washers would be a tre
 mendous help to the project! We also invite our volunteer groups to contrib
 ute materials to the project as able. Some items might include additional o
 r specific cleaning supplies, gardening plants, and/or other project-based 
 items based on the project list at this site and the overall volunteer skil
 l level.\nSupplied: We will provide light morning refreshments, water bottl
 es throughout the day, a prepared or catered lunch, and the basic supplies 
 for the projects listed (this could include: various cleaning agents, bucke
 ts, rags, brushes, painting supplies, mulch, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, 
 etc).
