Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads

The Patriot’s Pantry provides no-cost food assistance to active-duty military families stationed in the Hampton Roads area who are in need of food assistance. This is a consumer choice program, meaning there are no pre-made boxes or bags–patrons shop for their needs. The Pantry is accessible by appointments only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Fridays. Throughout the year we have been blessed with donations of non-perishable food items and personal hygiene items.  The donations are greater than the space at our office where the pantry is located.  As a result, we have had to store items in a couple of climate controlled storage units.  Volunteers are needed to help us sort and organize the non-perishables so that we can take inventory of items we have and check for expiration dates.  This project will make it easier for our staff to restock the pantry with needed items and give us an early start for our Operation Holiday Joy program, which will provide all the Thanksgiving non-perishable fixings for a family of four.

Boys & Girls Clubs of SE VA

   Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia will be holding a Club Clean & Care Days at various Club locations throughout 2026-2027. The details of the event are as follows:

 

Volunteers, along with a member of BGCSEVA Staff, will perform essential tasks such as cleaning and sanitizing areas of the Club, minor repairs, painting, minor landscape maintenance, assembling items, organizing storage areas...etc. Snacks and water will be provided by the Clubs along with all the materials and supplies needed for Club Clean & Care Day. Please consider joining us so we can keep our Clubs clean, healthy, safe, and looking great for our kids and Staff members. Thank you for your support of BGCSEVA!!

 

*This is a great event to use as a Team Building activity. BGCSEVA will take plenty of pictures throughout the event and tag your company of all social media platforms.

 

 

*Participants are encouraged to bring their own work gloves for landscape areas. BGCSEVA will supply sanitary gloves for cleaning inside

 

Catholic Charities Eastern Virginia

Help improve the appearance and safety of our office by cleaning up the exterior of the building. Tasks include raking leaves, pulling weeds, refreshing the landscape beds with mulch, and painting the designated curb yellow to clearly identify the handicap loading/unloading area for clients. Working together, we'll create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for everyone who visits.

Chesapeake (S. Norfolk) Location: Each year, we rely heavily on our Day of Caring volunteer agencies to help us with much needed deep cleaning and grounds beautification projects.  As a non-profit organization with limited resources, we are better able to carry out the important work of providing an essential service to children and families by hosting volunteer organizations such as yours!  We also employ a notoriously overworked, underpaid and under-appreciated population of Early Childhood workers - all of whom will be so GRATEFUL for the help in and around their classrooms!

We are looking to clean our barn from top to bottom. This will include cleaning all debris from the rafters, walls, and stall interiors; washing all wooden surfaces with Murphy's Oil Soap; and cleaning our wooden mounting ramps.

Tasks include: Clean all debris from rafters & walls Wash interior walls with Murphy's Soap Wash Stall walls clean Cobwebs, Salt block holders Clean ramp and repaint if time Wipe all bars on the stall doors
